Running a nonprofit, congregation or chapter in Waco
What the mission-organization landscape looks like here, what Texas requires of you, and the options for IT, bookkeeping and administrative support — including ours.
This is a reference guide, not a claim of local presence. SignalImpactlaunched in 2026, works remotely nationwide from a single office in Dallas–Fort Worth, and has one client engagement in production. This page being here says nothing about whether we have clients in Waco. Our services are the same everywhere because they are delivered remotely everywhere.
The mission-organization landscape in Waco
Waco combines a university Greek system with an unusually dense faith-based nonprofit sector, much of it connected to the university's religious affiliation. Faith-based nonprofits here are often young, growing quickly, and administered by people whose training is in ministry rather than finance.

Operations platform
Member and contact records, invoicing, payments, and communications in one system, under our name and our support.

A real IT function for an organization that cannot justify hiring one.
Back office & resourcing
Dedicated teammates doing the administrative work, at a cost that fits a mission budget.
Questions from Waco organizations
Our staff are trained in ministry, not accounting. Is that a problem?
It is the normal situation rather than a problem, and it is the reason back-office bookkeeping exists as a service. The failure mode is not incompetence, it is people doing a job they were not hired for after hours.
Are you local to Waco?
We are headquartered in Dallas–Fort Worth, about ninety minutes away. Same time zone; work is remote-first with on-site visits arranged.
General questions
Who is behind SignalImpact?
SignalImpact is a dba of Dataken Inc. Dataken has run its OLi AI platform in production for over five years, capturing roughly a million work signals a day across commercial deployments. SignalImpact packages that platform, plus the operational stack and the people to run it, for mission organizations.
What is the AI actually for?
Two things. It tells you where the hours in your operation really go — which processes are slow, which steps are rework, which software nobody opens. And it produces evidence that the work we are contracted to do is being done, which is the question every board asks about an administrative vendor and the one almost nobody can answer with data.
Why can we not just buy AI enablement ourselves?
You can buy it. The problem is the second half. Enterprise AI tooling is priced for organizations with IT budgets and sold to organizations with staff to configure it, read it, and act on what it finds. A congregation with two administrators has none of those. We operate it for you rather than licensing it to you, which is what makes it viable at this scale.
Do we have to leave the software we already use?
No. We sell a full operational platform and we would rather you were on it, but plenty of engagements start with us working inside OmegaFi, ShulCloud, Blackbaud, or whatever you already own. If a migration is not worth doing, we will say so.
Do you do fundraising?
No. No donor development, no grant writing, no capital campaigns, no list rental. Those are relationship jobs that belong to your team. Our contribution is giving your people back the hours currently going to reconciliation and password resets.
